Enterprise tower server for virtualization

The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server equipped with two Intel Xeon Gold 5118 processors running at 2.3GHz with twelve cores each and a 3.2GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 32GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across sixteen slots and supports up to 1TB total capacity. The Dell PERC HBA330 controller manages sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays for SAS and SATA storage, making the platform suitable for virtualization, database hosting and software-defined storage deployments.

Sustained compute performance

With two Gold 5118 CPUs installed the system delivers twenty-four cores and forty-eight threads at base frequency, allowing consistent throughput for multi-threaded applications such as hypervisor hosts or SQL databases. Turbo operation to 3.2GHz provides additional headroom for burst phases while the DDR4-2400 memory subsystem maintains bandwidth across all populated channels. The HBA330 controller presents drives directly to the operating system without hardware RAID overhead, giving predictable I/O latency during extended backup or replication jobs.

Redundant platinum power supplies

Dual 750 watt platinum-efficiency power supplies provide hot-swap redundancy so a single unit failure does not interrupt operation. Integrated iDRAC 9 Express enables out-of-band monitoring, power control and firmware updates over the dedicated management port. Dual onboard gigabit Ethernet ports handle production traffic while the front bezel and rack rails are not included, allowing the chassis to remain in tower orientation or be converted with a separate kit.
