Enterprise 5U Server

The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U enterprise tower server that can be converted for rack mounting. Two Intel Xeon Gold 5118 processors provide 24 total cores at 2.3GHz with 3.2GHz turbo capability. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory populate four of sixteen available slots. The PERC H730P controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with a 2GB cache battery. Sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays accept SAS, SATA and SSD media. Integrated dual-port Gigabit Ethernet and iDRAC 9 Express handle networking and remote management.

Redundant Platinum Power

Dual 750-watt platinum-efficiency power supplies operate in redundant hot-swap configuration to maintain uptime during a module failure. The 5U chassis provides generous airflow paths for the dual 12-core processors and dense drive population. Fan speeds scale with thermal load from the CPUs, memory, storage controller and drive array. Acoustic output reflects a server-class design intended for equipment rooms rather than office desks. Power draw varies with workload across the two processors, memory population and up to sixteen spinning drives.

Controller Battery and Remote Access

The H730P controller's 2GB battery-backed cache preserves write data during unexpected power loss and enables advanced RAID levels including 50 and 60. iDRAC 9 Express delivers out-of-band management for power control, virtual console, hardware inventory and firmware updates without requiring the host operating system to be running. Sixteen included drive trays populate every front bay for immediate hot-swap deployment. The front bezel and ready rails are not included, so rack mounting requires a separate conversion kit or rail kit purchase.
