Purpose-built compute density

The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U rack server fitted with two Intel Xeon Gold 5218 processors running at 2.3GHz with a 3.9GHz turbo frequency. Sixteen cores per socket deliver thirty-two cores total, backed by 256GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across eight 32GB modules. The PERC H730P controller with 2GB cache supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for database, virtualization and file-serving workloads. Eight 2.5-inch hot-swap trays are populated; the chassis accepts up to sixteen drives.

Hot-swap chassis and remote control

Redundant 750W platinum power supplies and hot-swap drive bays let administrators replace failed components without downtime. The integrated dual-port gigabit adapter handles baseline connectivity while iDRAC 9 Express provides out-of-band management, firmware updates and remote console access over a dedicated network port.
