The chassis provides sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays supporting SAS and SATA drives, but only eight Dell EMC 13G drive trays are supplied. Expansion beyond eight drives requires purchasing additional trays separately. The HBA330 controller provides 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA connectivity without RAID functionality, so software RAID or a separate RAID card is needed for hardware redundancy.
