Enterprise tower server for virtualization

The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server built for virtualization, database hosting, file storage and backup workloads. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4110 processors running at 2.1GHz with a 3.0GHz turbo frequency. Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed across four slots, leaving twelve slots open for expansion up to 1TB. The system includes a PERC H330 storage controller, eight 2.5-inch hot-swap drive trays, dual gigabit Ethernet and iDRAC 9 Express remote management.

Dual Xeon Silver 4110 processors

Two eight-core Xeon Silver 4110 CPUs provide sixteen physical cores at a 2.1GHz base clock and 3.0GHz turbo. The LGA 3647 sockets are fully populated, so no additional processors can be added. This core count suits multi-tenant virtualization, database instances and parallel application threads that benefit from high thread density within a single chassis.

Sixteen-bay 2.5-inch chassis

The 5U enclosure supports up to sixteen 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives, though only eight trays are included. Hot-swap bays and dual 750W platinum power supplies enable drive and power maintenance without downtime. PCI Express slots remain available for RAID upgrades, additional networking, GPU compute or other expansion cards. An optional rack conversion kit allows deployment in a standard server rack when floor space is limited.
