HP
A 1U rack server with an 8-core Xeon at 2.4 GHz, 128 GB DDR4 and two 500 GB SATA drives
HDD 2 x 500GB
Struck-through versions exist but are not stocked here.
This 1U rack server ships new with a single Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 eight-core processor at 2.4 GHz and 128 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. It includes two 500 GB 7.2K SATA drives managed by the B140i software RAID controller and a 550 W redundant hot-swap power supply. No operating system is included.
The B140i controller supports RAID 0, 1 and 5 on SATA drives only, so the system fits environments that can use software RAID without cache protection. Buyers who require a hardware RAID controller with battery-backed cache or who must boot from SAS volumes should evaluate other platforms because the onboard controller is limited to SATA RAID levels.
The server arrives with all 16 DIMM slots populated to reach the 128 GB installed and maximum capacity supported by this configuration. Any memory expansion would require removing existing modules, so buyers planning larger memory footprints need a different chassis or processor combination.

Other versions of this model
Same family, different memory, cooler or clock — compare before you commit.
Power on the 1U rack unit and watch the POST screen; it should detect the single Xeon E5-2630 v3 at 2.4GHz, show all 128GB across the 16 DIMM slots, and report the B140i controller with the two 500GB SATA drives.
The box contains the 1U chassis with redundant hot-swap 550W power, one E5-2630 v3 CPU, 128GB DDR4 ECC registered memory, two 500GB 7.2K 2.5" SATA drives in trays, and the Matrox G200 GPU; you must add an operating system and any extra drives or a second processor.
The installed 128GB already equals the stated maximum memory capacity for this configuration, so no larger kit is applicable; all 16 slots are populated with DDR4 modules.
