1U rack server with a 10-core 2.3 GHz Xeon, 8 GB DDR4, and two 1 TB SATA drives on B140i RAID
HDD 2 x 1TB
Struck-through versions exist but are not stocked here.
This 1U rack server ships new with a single Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 processor delivering ten cores at 2.3 GHz and 8 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. It includes two 1 TB 7.2K SATA drives in an eight-bay SFF chassis and uses the onboard B140i software RAID controller for RAID 0, 1 or 5. Redundant hot-swap 550 W power supplies are fitted and no operating system is included.
The platform suits buyers who want a compact rack server with internal SATA storage and room to add a second processor later. It is not for buyers who need hardware RAID acceleration, SAS drive support from the integrated controller, or more than 8 GB of memory without purchasing additional DIMMs.
The integrated B140i controller provides RAID 0, 1 and 5 exclusively for SATA devices, so the two installed 1 TB drives and any additional SATA drives can be protected, but the controller cannot manage SAS drives.

Other versions of this model
Same family, different memory, cooler or clock — compare before you commit.
Install the second Xeon in the empty socket, then populate the eight DIMM slots associated with that processor before filling the first CPU's remaining slots.
Replace or add DDR4 ECC registered modules in 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64 GB capacities up to 2400 MT/s to reach 1 TB across all sixteen slots.
The B140i software RAID is limited to SATA 6 Gbps and RAID 0, 1, 5, so sustained write speed is capped by the 7.2K mechanical drives and the controller's SATA-only interface.
