Dense 1U rack server

The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 fits a dual-processor platform into a single rack unit with eight small-form-factor drive bays. Two Xeon E5-2640 v3 CPUs provide sixteen physical cores and thirty-two threads at 2.6 GHz. Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory populate the twenty-four DIMM slots. The B140i controller handles SATA RAID levels 0, 1, 5 and 10.

Redundant power and hot-swap bays

Dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies deliver N+1 redundancy without shutting down the chassis. Eight front-access 2.5-inch bays accept SATA or SAS drives and include two drive trays with screws. The Matrox G200 graphics chip with sixteen megabytes of video memory provides basic console output. No operating system or storage drives are included.

Efficient cooling in a 1U form factor

The compact chassis uses high-speed fans to move air across both processors and the memory array. Redundant power supplies share the load, reducing per-unit strain and acoustic output under typical workloads. Power draw scales with CPU utilisation and drive count, staying within the 500 W module rating. Thermal design targets dense rack deployments where airflow is managed at row level.
