This HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built around two Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 processors. Each CPU delivers ten cores at 2.3 GHz for a total of twenty threads. The platform targets virtualization hosts, database nodes and high-performance computing clusters that need dense two-socket power.

DDR4 2133 MHz memory ceiling

Sixty-four gigabytes of registered DDR4 PC4-17000 memory ship in four 16 GB modules running at 2133 MHz. The Gen9 memory controller tops out at this speed, so faster modules will downclock. The four installed DIMMs leave additional slots open for expansion up to the chipset limit.

Four-bay 3.5" SAS storage limit

The chassis holds four 3.5-inch drives configured as 8 TB of 7.2K NL SAS capacity. The Smart Array P440ar controller provides 12 Gb/s links and 2 GB flash-backed write cache. Only four bays exist, so raw capacity maxes out at the installed 8 TB unless larger SAS drives are sourced.
