This HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server system designed for dense compute workloads. It ships with dual Intel Xeon E5-2643 v3 six-core processors running at 3.4 GHz and 16 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory installed across 24 DIMM slots.
The server fits buyers who need two Xeon E5 v3 CPUs, redundant 500 W hot-swap power supplies and a Smart HBA H240ar controller with RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 in a single rack unit. It does not suit workloads that require more than the installed 16 GB of RAM because the specification lists the maximum memory capacity as 16 GB. GPU-dependent tasks are not supported beyond the integrated Matrox G200 graphics.
The H240ar controller provides 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA connectivity for the two included 600 GB 15 K 3.5-inch SAS drives in the four LFF bays. Buyers must match SAS or SATA drives to this controller; other drive interfaces are not supported by the installed hardware.

Other versions of this model
Same family, different memory, cooler or clock — compare before you commit.
The Smart HBA H240ar controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the installed SAS drives.
The chassis is a 1U rackmount with four 3.5-inch LFF drive bays; trays are included with the two 600 GB 15 K SAS drives.
The H240ar plugs into the dedicated FlexibleLOM slot on the system board; the step often missed is enabling the controller in UEFI before creating arrays.
