This 2U rack server ships with a single six-core Xeon E5-2609 v3 processor at 1.9 GHz and 8 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. It includes two 1 TB 7.2K SAS drives and a Smart Array P440 controller with 4 GB flash-backed write cache. Dual 500 W redundant power supplies are fitted. The platform targets workloads that need dense internal storage in a standard rack footprint.

Verify rack depth power and memory expansion

Confirm that your rack can accommodate a 2U chassis and that the PDU cables reach the dual redundant supplies. The board provides 24 DDR4 DIMM slots, twelve per processor socket, so adding a second CPU unlocks the remaining slots and raises the memory ceiling toward the 3 TB platform maximum. Drive trays for the installed SAS drives are included; additional bays require their own trays.

Dense SAS storage with room for a second processor

The sixteen small-form-factor bays accept SAS drives or SSDs and connect through the P440 controller supporting RAID 0 1 5 6 10 50 60. A second processor can be added to double core count and memory channels, while an optional universal media bay or an extra eight-bay cage expands capacity to twenty-four bays. Matrox G200eH2 graphics handle basic console output without consuming a PCIe slot.
