HP
2U rack server with one 2.4 GHz eight-core Xeon, 64 GB DDR4, two 146 GB 15K SAS drives and P440 4 GB FBWC RAID
The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rack server built for data-centre workloads. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 eight-core processor running at 2.4 GHz and 64 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory across 24 DIMM slots. The system includes a Smart Array P440 controller with 4 GB FBWC and two 146 GB 15 K SAS drives. Dual 500 W redundant hot-swap power supplies are fitted.
This unit occupies 2U of rack space and provides 16 small-form-factor drive bays with an option to add eight more. The installed CPU is a single E5-2630 v3; a second processor can be added to reach the 36-core maximum. Memory currently fills 64 GB of the 3 TB supported limit, so verify remaining slot availability before ordering extra modules. The P440 controller manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across SAS drives only.
The Smart Array P440 with 4 GB flash-backed write cache accelerates write-heavy RAID operations and protects in-flight data during power loss. Dual 500 W hot-swap supplies keep the server running if one unit fails or needs replacement. No operating system is included, so you must supply your own hypervisor or OS licences. The Matrox G200eH2 graphics chip provides basic console output only.

Same family, different memory, cooler or clock — compare before you commit.
The two 146GB 15K 6Gbps 2.5" SAS drives include their trays; the remaining 14 empty 2.5" bays will need trays if you add more drives.
The board supports up to two processors; a second Xeon doubles cores to 16 and unlocks the second set of 12 DIMM slots for memory beyond 64GB.
The 4GB flash-backed write cache accelerates RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 writes and protects in-flight data during power loss.
