A 1U rack server with a 16-core AMD EPYC 9124 at 3.0 GHz, 64 GB DDR5, dual 480 GB SATA SSDs and 10 Gb Ethernet for virtualised workloads
This 1U rack server is built for virtualised and software-defined compute workloads that need balanced processor, memory and network bandwidth. It ships with a single AMD EPYC 9124 16-core processor running at 3.0 GHz and 64 GB of HPE DDR5 Smart Memory. Two 480 GB SATA SSDs provide 960 GB of storage managed by an MR408i-o Gen11 controller with 4 GB cache. Dual 10 Gb BASE-T ports and dual 500 W hot-plug power supplies complete the configuration.
The server slides into a standard 1U rack space and uses tool-less rails for quick mounting. Both power supplies and the SSDs are hot-plug, so they can be swapped without shutting down. The MR408i-o storage controller occupies an OCP 3.0 slot, leaving the remaining expansion slots for additional adapters. A frequent issue is forgetting to enable the silicon root of trust in the BIOS before first boot, which prevents the firmware from validating the AMD Secure Processor fingerprint.
Only one processor is supported in this chassis; the socket count is fixed at one and cannot be upgraded to a dual-socket layout. If your workload demands more than 16 cores or requires a second CPU for licensing or memory-channel reasons, this platform will not meet that need. The installed 64 GB of DDR5 fills a portion of the available memory channels, but total capacity is ultimately limited by the single-processor design.

During POST the iLO console will display the single 16-core EPYC 9124 at 3.0 GHz and show 64 GB of HPE DDR5 Smart Memory configured; the MR408i-o controller should also report two 480 GB SATA SSDs in a RAID array.
The box contains the 1U chassis with one EPYC 9124 CPU, 64 GB DDR5, two 480 GB SATA SSDs, the MR408i-o storage controller, a Broadcom 57416 10Gb dual-port OCP3 adapter, and two 500 W hot-plug power supplies; rails, additional drives or GPU cards are not included.
The DL325 G11 supports only one processor socket with a maximum of 160 cores across the EPYC 9004 and 9005 families; choose a higher-core-count SKU only if your workload demands more than 16 cores or a higher TDP than the 200 W 9124 provides.
