This HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen9 8SFF rack server arrives new with one Xeon E5-2640 v3 processor at 2.6GHz and 384GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. It targets organisations that need a configurable 2U platform for virtualisation, database or file workloads. The chassis supports up to eight 2.5-inch SAS drive bays and a second processor for future growth. No drives are installed, so storage must be added separately.

Memory capacity and headroom

The system ships with 384GB of DDR4 installed across the available DIMM slots, leaving headroom to reach the 1536GB maximum when both processors are populated. This amount comfortably handles medium-sized virtual machine clusters and in-memory databases. Workloads that scale beyond 1536GB or require more than two Xeon processors will exceed the platform limits. The P440 SAS controller manages the internal drive array.
