The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is a 17.3 inch mobile workstation built around an Intel Xeon E3-1505M v6 processor with four cores and a 4.00 GHz turbo frequency. It runs Windows 10 Pro and includes 8GB of DDR4 memory at 2400 MHz plus a 1TB SSD. The NVIDIA Quadro P3000 provides 6GB of dedicated video memory for professional graphics workloads. Integrated 4G LTE WWAN adds cellular connectivity for remote work.

Quadro P3000 6GB and 4G LTE change the workflow

The Quadro P3000 GPU enables hardware acceleration across more than 100 ISV-certified applications used in design, engineering and content creation. Its 6GB VRAM supports larger models and textures than entry-level professional cards. The embedded 4G LTE WWAN module allows a data connection without relying on Wi-Fi hotspots or phone tethering. A fingerprint reader and secure chip provide hardware-based authentication and platform integrity checks.

Standard serviceable design

The chassis uses a traditional ThinkPad layout allowing access to the SSD bay and memory slots after removing the bottom cover. Two SO-DIMM slots are present, though one may be populated by the factory 8GB module leaving a single slot for expansion. The Xeon processor is socketed, but thermal constraints discourage replacement. WWAN antenna cables are pre-routed, so the factory-installed 4G module avoids the common retro-fit issue of missing cables.
