MAIWO
Connect 2.5 or 3.5 inch SAS and SATA drives via USB 3.1 Type-C with 12 V power for up to 18 TB capacity
The MAIWO K3527SAS accepts one 2.5 or 3.5 inch SAS or SATA hard drive up to 18TB and connects to a host via USB 3.1 Type-C. It is aimed at technicians and administrators who need to recover data, clone drives or add portable bulk storage to laptops, desktops or servers running Windows, Mac OS 8.0 and later or Linux.
The enclosure uses an aluminium alloy shell with honeycomb ventilation holes and has no fan, so it runs silently during normal file transfers and backups. A supplied 12V 2A power adapter provides independent power for the drive, ensuring stable operation without drawing current from the host port.
During long imaging or RAID rebuild sessions the unit enters an automatic sleep mode when data activity stops, reducing drive wear and power draw. The fanless design relies on passive convection, so surface temperature will rise with continuous heavy I/O but the enclosure remains within safe operating limits for the drive.

Slide the cover off, insert the drive into the SAS/SATA connector, replace the cover, connect the 12V2A power adapter, then plug the Type-C cable into a USB 3.1 port. The step often missed is applying power before the data link.
The 12V2A external power adapter is the only field-replaceable component; the enclosure has no fan and the aluminum shell handles heat passively.
The USB 3.1 Gen 1 link caps sustained throughput at 5 Gbps, below the drive’s 6 Gbps SAS capability.
