16 GB DDR3-1333 ECC registered dual-rank kit for Lenovo System x3400, x3500 and x3550 servers
Capacity 16GB (2 x 8GB)
This 16GB kit contains two 8GB DDR3 1333 PC3-10600 CL9 registered ECC modules built for Lenovo System x3400 M2, x3400 M3, x3500 M2, x3500 M3 and x3550 M2 servers. Each stick is a 240-pin 2Rx4 RDIMM running at 1.5V without a heat spreader. It replaces Lenovo part numbers such as 0A89412, 46C0542 and 49Y1436.
Registered ECC DDR3 memory only works in platforms that explicitly support registered modules and ECC error correction. It cannot be mixed with unbuffered or non-ECC DDR3, and it will not function in standard desktop motherboards that lack registered DIMM support. The DDR3 1333 interface caps bandwidth at the PC3-10600 data rate.
Verify that your server model appears in the supported list and that the system requires registered ECC DDR3 at 1.5V. Confirm the memory slots accept 240-pin RDIMMs and that the BIOS revision permits 8GB 2Rx4 modules. Do not install these modules in workstations or desktops that take only unbuffered memory.

Other versions of this model
Same family, different memory, cooler or clock — compare before you commit.
This kit provides 16GB using two 8GB modules. If your server has free 240-pin slots and the board supports larger capacities, you can add a second identical kit to reach 32GB.
The modules run at DDR3 1333 (PC3-10600) with CL9 latency at 1.5V. The system will operate them at the highest speed the memory controller and existing DIMMs allow.
No. These are 240-pin DDR3 ECC Registered RDIMMs (2Rx4). They require a workstation or server platform that supports registered memory and will not function in standard desktop boards.
