Server memory upgrade kit

This 16GB kit contains two 8GB DDR3L ECC registered DIMMs built for Supermicro SuperServer 6047R, 7047R, 8017R, 8027R and 8028B series. It targets administrators who need to expand capacity in these specific workstation and server platforms. The modules will not work in standard desktop computers and cannot be mixed with unbuffered memory.

240-pin registered form factor

Each module uses a 240-pin DDR3L interface with a 1.35V operating voltage and no heat spreader. The registered design places a buffer on the command bus, reducing electrical load on the memory controller when populating multiple slots. This allows denser configurations in compatible SuperServer chassis, but the physical keying prevents installation in consumer motherboards.

DDR3L 1600 CL11 bandwidth ceiling

The PC3L-12800 rating delivers a maximum transfer rate of 12800 MB/s at CL11 latency. That throughput caps memory-bound workloads on these platforms, so applications needing higher bandwidth will not benefit from faster modules the board cannot support. Buyers who need greater capacity per slot or a newer memory standard must choose a different server generation.
