This OWC kit provides 1TB of DDR4 ECC Load Reduced memory across eight 128GB modules. It is built for Supermicro H12SSL and H12SSW series motherboards in server and workstation roles. Standard desktop systems cannot use this memory type.
The single deciding specification is the Load Reduced ECC design with 4Rx4 organisation. This memory will not work in platforms that require unbuffered or standard registered ECC modules and cannot be mixed with those types.
The 1TB total handles large virtualisation clusters, in-memory databases and heavy rendering pipelines. Workloads that exceed 1TB per socket will require additional DIMM slots or higher density modules not included in this kit.
