4GB DDR2 ECC FBDIMM kit running at 667 MHz with CL5 latency and 1.8 V operation
This kit provides 4GB of DDR2 memory as two 2GB modules built to the PC2-5300 standard at 667MHz. It uses fully buffered DIMM technology with ECC, so it only works in motherboards that accept FBDIMM modules and will not fit a standard DDR2 socket.
Each module ships with a heatspreader attached and has been tested before dispatch to reduce the chance of errors or instability caused by untested components. The kit runs at 1.8V with a CL5 latency and a 256Meg x 72 organisation.
An FBDIMM module cannot be installed in a regular DDR2 slot and a regular DDR2 module cannot be installed in an FBDIMM slot, so the motherboard must explicitly support the fully buffered interface. The 240-pin form factor looks similar but the keying and signalling are different, preventing cross-installation.

No user-serviceable parts exist on these modules; the only future action is replacing the kit if a chip fails.
The DDR2 667 MHz data rate and CL5 latency set the throughput ceiling before heat or power become factors.
The 1.8 V DDR2 modules run silently with passive heatspreaders; power draw stays within standard DDR2 limits.
