The Synology RS826+ is a 1U rackmount network-attached storage system built for edge locations and growing business environments. It ships fully assembled and tested with four drive bays populated by 20 TB Synology Plus drives, delivering 80 TB of raw capacity. An AMD Ryzen V1500B four-core, eight-thread processor and 8 GB of DDR4 ECC memory handle file services and virtualization workloads. A pre-installed two-port 10GBASE-T adapter provides high-speed wired connectivity out of the box.

Sustained throughput with Link Aggregation

Under Synology test conditions the RS826+ achieves more than 2000 MB/s sequential read and 1300 MB/s sequential write, reflecting real-world sustained transfer rates rather than short bursts. Four onboard 1 GbE RJ-45 ports support Link Aggregation for load balancing and automatic failover during extended operations. A PCIe Gen3 slot remains available for future 10 GbE or 25 GbE upgrades if bandwidth demands increase beyond the included adapter.

Four-bay capacity ceiling defines the storage limit

The chassis provides exactly four 3.5-inch SATA drive bays, so the maximum raw capacity is set by the largest supported drives multiplied by four. Buyers who need more storage bays or higher total capacity must choose a larger rackmount model. The included 80 TB configuration uses the full bay count, leaving no room for internal expansion without removing existing drives.
