Thermalright
Turns an M.2 NVMe SSD into a 10 Gbps USB-C drive with aluminium cooling for 2230-2280 sizes
Color Black
Model HR-EB118 AC
The Thermalright HR-EB118 turns a compatible M.2 NVMe SSD into an external 10Gbps USB-C drive. It accepts 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors with M Key or B+M Key PCIe NVMe drives up to 8TB. The CNC aluminium housing includes thicker thermal pads for heat transfer during extended use. Two cables, a screwdriver, thermal pads and mounting hardware are included.
This enclosure supports M.2 NVMe SSDs only and does not support SATA M.2 SSDs. Your host device must provide a USB-C port with USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 3 capability to reach the stated 10Gbps bandwidth. The drive length must not exceed 80mm; the maximum supported capacity per bay is 18TB although the manufacturer highlights 8TB NVMe SSDs. No external power adapter is required as the unit is bus-powered.
Ideal for laptop expansion, photo and video backup, game libraries and creative file transfer on Windows, Mac OS, Linux, iOS and Android. Not for buyers who need SATA M.2 support or who lack a USB-C port with 10Gbps capability. Builders wanting internal installation or RAID configurations should look at a different solution.

The box includes the HR-EB118 enclosure, USB-C to C cable, USB-A to C cable, two thicker thermal pads, screwdriver, SSD screw and standoff, and user manual with warranty card. You must supply your own M.2 NVMe SSD as none is included.
The enclosure accepts 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 NVMe SSDs with M Key or B+M Key PCIe interfaces, up to 8TB per drive. SATA M.2 SSDs are not supported.
10Gbps is the theoretical USB 3.2 Gen 2 bandwidth. Actual speeds depend on your SSD, host port, cable quality and file types, and will be lower than the headline figure.
