Vszerda
Adds eight USB 3.2 ports — four Type-C and four Type-A — at 10 Gbps each through a single PCIe x1 slot
The Vszerda add-on card adds eight USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports to a desktop system through a single PCI Express x1 slot. Four ports are USB Type-C and four are USB Type-A, letting you connect keyboards, mice, external drives, webcams, printers, scanners, game controllers and VR headsets. It fits PCIe x4, x8 or x16 sockets and works with Windows 7 through 11, macOS 10.8.2 and later, Linux, Ubuntu and unRAID. Driver-free on Windows 10 and 11, macOS and Linux; Windows 7 requires the supplied driver.
The card provides two independent 10 Gbps channels. One USB Type-C port and three USB Type-A ports share the first 10 Gbps pool, while the remaining four ports share the second 10 Gbps pool. A single port can reach the full 10 Gbps when it is the only active device on its channel, but simultaneous transfers on multiple ports divide the available bandwidth. The adapter handles data only; it does not support Power Delivery fast charging, video output or Thunderbolt protocol.
Although the card presents 20 Gbps of USB bandwidth, the host connection is a single PCI Express lane. On a PCIe 2.0 platform that lane caps at 5 GT/s, on PCIe 3.0 at 8 GT/s and on PCIe 4.0 at 16 GT/s, so the bus can become the bottleneck before the USB controllers saturate. The card is compatible with PCIe 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 motherboards, but builders who need sustained 20 Gbps across all eight ports simultaneously should verify their platform's single-lane throughput.
No published specifications for this item yet.
The card fits PCIe 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 slots but its Gen 2 10Gbps ports need a Gen 2 link; in a 2.0 slot each port tops out at 5Gbps.
In Device Manager or lsusb -t check that each port enumerates as 10Gbps SuperSpeed+; then copy a large file to a Gen 2 drive on each port and verify sustained throughput near 10Gbps.
The package contains the expansion card and a driver CD; no internal power cable or extra brackets are supplied.
