The ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 Ti AMP Extreme delivers 11GB of GDDR5X memory across a 352-bit interface for 4K gaming and VR workloads. It runs on the Pascal architecture with 3584 CUDA cores and a boost clock of 1759 MHz. The card connects via PCI Express 3.0 and supports DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.5.

Upgrade from 8GB 256-bit models

Moving from an 8GB 256-bit GDDR5X card adds 3GB of VRAM and a wider 352-bit bus for higher bandwidth at 4K resolution. The 1645 MHz base clock and 1759 MHz boost clock provide extra headroom for demanding titles. This step makes sense when 8GB buffers limit texture quality or frame consistency.

PCI Express 3.0 and display limits

The PCI Express 3.0 interface caps total bus throughput, which can become a bottleneck with very high frame rates at lower resolutions. Display outputs include three DisplayPort 1.4 ports, one HDMI 2.0b port and one DL-DVI-D connector for up to four monitors. SLI support is limited to 2-way configurations with an HB bridge.
