What BendLay filament is and who it suits

Lay Filaments BendLay is a modified butadiene filament designed for makers who need tough, nearly clear prints that stay bendable after cooling. It prints at 230-240 degC on any printer accepting 1.75 mm filament with ±0.1 mm tolerance. The 0.25 kg spool is ideal for small test parts, translucent prototypes or medical-device models where household and food safety matter. It is not for users who need large-volume spools for production runs or materials that withstand acetone smoothing.

Capacity and headroom: what it handles

The spool holds 0.25 kg of filament, enough for multiple small brackets, clear enclosures or flexible hinges without frequent changeovers. High interlayer adhesion gives strong, watertight walls even on thin features, and low moisture uptake reduces warping on unheated beds. The material softens above the 230-240 degC print window, so it cannot serve high-temperature structural parts or applications requiring acetone vapour polishing.

Thermals, noise and power draw in normal use

Printing at 230-240 degC keeps hot-end power demand moderate and within range of standard 24 V heater cartridges. No heated chamber is required, so enclosure fans and additional heating elements stay off, limiting system noise to the printer’s own motion mechanics. Low warping means fewer failed prints and less wasted machine time, indirectly reducing overall energy consumption per successful part.
