4G LTE Cellular Solar Camera

The Clover S40 is a wireless outdoor surveillance camera that operates on 4G LTE cellular networks without requiring Wi‑Fi or mains power. It is built for remote locations such as farms, construction sites, vacation homes or RVs where only cellular coverage exists. A built‑in EIOTCLUB SIM card provides a 7‑day unlimited data trial and works with major U.S. carriers. After the trial a paid subscription is required to maintain service.

Installation and Common Issues

Mount the camera and the included 6 W solar panel using the supplied wall bracket, then charge the 10400 mAh battery fully via the power cable before first use. The device is IP65 weatherproof so it withstands rain and dust, but it will not connect where 4G signal is weak or absent. Only the bundled SIM card is supported; swapping in another SIM will not activate the camera. Cloud storage also requires a separate subscription after the 30‑day trial.

Cellular Interface Limits

Video streams at 2K resolution using H.265 coding, which the supplier says reduces storage and data traffic by 40 %. The 4G link bandwidth caps the maximum bitrate and can introduce latency during peak network load. Digital zoom is limited to 4× and there is no optical zoom, so distant detail remains constrained. Continuous recording depends on sufficient sunlight to keep the battery charged; extended overcast periods may interrupt operation.
