This 2.5-inch enterprise drive delivers 1.92 TB of capacity over a 12 Gbps SAS interface. It uses TLC NAND optimised for read-intensive duty cycles in Dell PowerEdge servers. The PM1633a firmware is updated and the unit is tested for immediate deployment.
Replaces smaller or slower SAS SSDs in read-heavy
The jump is worthwhile when current drives limit database indexing, virtualisation host caching or content-delivery throughput. It is not suited for write-heavy logging, high-frequency trading journals or workloads demanding sustained mixed random I/O.
