The PowerEdge R640 fits two Intel Xeon Gold 6130 processors and 64GB of DDR4 ECC memory into a single rack unit. Sixteen cores per socket at 2.1GHz base clock provide a compact foundation for virtualised workloads and scale-out compute clusters. The chassis supports up to 24 DIMM slots for future expansion.

Sustained throughput with hardware RAID

Eight 600GB 10K SAS drives connect to a PERC H730P controller with 2GB cache and battery backup, enabling RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 under continuous write pressure. Redundant 750W platinum power supplies and hot-swap bays keep the array online during drive or power-module replacement.
