Dual 14-core Xeon server

The PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack system built for midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, e-commerce platforms, virtual desktop infrastructure, databases or high-performance computing nodes. Two Intel Xeon E5-2660 v4 processors deliver 28 total cores at 2.0 GHz with 3.2 GHz turbo for heavy multi-threaded workloads. It is not for buyers who need a single-socket platform or desktop form factor.

512GB DDR4 registered ECC memory

Sixteen 32 GB DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC modules fill 16 of the 24 available slots, leaving room to expand toward the 1.5 TB maximum. The memory type is DDR4 only; no other generation fits this platform. Builders who require more than 512 GB at deployment must add modules separately.

H730 controller with 10 SAS drives and quad-port

The PERC H730 1 GB mini controller supports RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 and pass-through across ten 600 GB 10 K SAS drives in the eight 2.5 inch bays. An Intel X520/I350 daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports, while iDRAC8 Enterprise provides dedicated remote management. No solid-state drives are included.
