The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon Gold 6134 processors, each running at 3.2 GHz with eight cores. Storage and Network Limits

Eight 2.5-inch drive trays accept SATA or SAS drives and connect to a PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Networking is handled by an Intel X520/I350 daughter card providing two 1 GbE ports and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports. The 24 memory slots allow expansion up to 3 TB of DDR4.
