Professional workstation for demanding compute

The Dell Precision 5820 Tower is built around an Intel Xeon W-2225 processor running at 4.1GHz with a 4.6GHz turbo frequency across four cores. It ships with 128GB of DDR4 2666MHz registered ECC memory configured as four 32GB modules. A 2TB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive provides primary storage, while an Nvidia Quadro RTX 6000 graphics card with 24GB GDDR6 memory handles visualisation workloads. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on the mid-tower chassis.

Straightforward internal access

The mid-tower form factor allows tool-less entry to the 950 watt 80 Plus Gold certified power supply and the eight total memory slots. Installing additional DDR4 2666MHz registered ECC modules requires matching the existing 32GB stick density and registered specification; unbuffered consumer memory will not function. The Ultra-Speed Drive Duo bracket accepts M.2 NVMe drives, but the single 2TB drive occupies one position. Graphics card power connectors are pre-routed for the factory-installed Quadro RTX 6000.

PCIe 3.0 platform limits expandability ceiling

The LGA 2066 platform links the Xeon W-2225 and chipset over PCIe 3.0 lanes, capping NVMe throughput and multi-GPU bandwidth to that generation. The Quadro RTX 6000 provides four DisplayPort 1.4 outputs and one USB-C connector for display connectivity. Maximum supported memory is 256GB across the eight slots, so the current 128GB configuration leaves room for expansion within the registered ECC requirement. Gigabit Ethernet via the Intel i219 controller and integrated Realtek ALC3234 audio complete the onboard I/O.
