Professional workstation for design and engineering

The HP Z4 G4 is a new tower workstation built for professional design, content creation, rendering and engineering workloads. It runs a single Intel Xeon W-2135 six-core processor at 3.7GHz with 12 threads. The 64GB DDR4 ECC memory fills the maximum supported capacity across four channels at 2666MHz. A 500GB NVMe SSD and an NVIDIA Quadro P1000 with 4GB GDDR5 complete the core specification.

Standard tower access with memory at its limit

The tower chassis opens for component access and includes two internal 3.5-inch bays with acoustic dampening rails, two external 5.25-inch bays and a dedicated 9.5mm slim optical bay holding a DVD+/-RW drive. Installing additional storage in the 3.5-inch bays uses the onboard SATA controller with RAID 0, 1, 5 or 10 support. The 64GB memory configuration already reaches the 64GB maximum listed in the primary specifications, so no further memory upgrades are possible without replacing modules.

500GB NVMe and Quadro P1000 headroom

The 500GB NVMe drive provides quick access to applications and active project files, with capacity suited to everyday professional work; larger datasets will require the additional 3.5-inch SATA bays or expansion cards. The Quadro P1000 drives up to four displays via Mini DisplayPort 1.4 and handles CAD, content creation and multi-monitor setups; more intensive GPU rendering or compute tasks will exceed the 4GB GDDR5 frame buffer. The 465W chipset and single-processor design set the overall power envelope for expansion.
