384GB DDR5 4800 ECC RDIMM Kit

This 384GB kit contains four 96GB DDR5 4800 registered ECC modules built for the Thinkmate RAX-XS4-21S4 rackmount server. Each stick runs at 1.1V with CL40 latency and a 2Rx8 organisation. The registered design adds a buffer that stabilises heavy memory loads in multi-socket enterprise workloads.

DDR5 4800 Registered ECC Limits

DDR5 4800 transfers data at 38400 MB/s per module, but the registered buffer adds one cycle of latency compared with unbuffered DIMMs. ECC corrects single-bit errors and detects double-bit errors, yet it cannot repair a failed DRAM chip. The 2Rx8 rank layout fits standard server channels, though total capacity per channel remains bound by the platform memory controller.

Installing Four 288-Pin RDIMMs

The 288-pin modules key into DDR5 slots in one orientation; press evenly until both retention clips click. Populate all four channels identically to keep timings matched, and verify the BIOS reports 384GB at 4800 MT/s before deploying. A common issue is mixing this kit with different rank or voltage DIMMs, which forces the controller to down-clock or halt at POST.
