Lenovo G-series memory upgrade

This OWC module adds 8GB of DDR3L memory to compatible Lenovo G-series laptops including the G40-70, G410, G41-35, G500s, G50-30, G50-45 and G505s. It uses the standard 204-pin SODIMM form factor and runs at 1.35V. The non-ECC, unbuffered design matches the original system specifications for a warranty-safe installation. Buyers needing ECC error correction or registered modules cannot use this product.

Sustained workload behaviour

The module operates at DDR3L 1600 (PC3L-12800) with a CL11 latency timing and a dual-rank 2Rx8 organisation. Under continuous load the JEDEC-standard timings remain stable because the components are tested to meet OEM specifications. There is no heat spreader, so thermal performance depends entirely on the laptop's internal airflow and chassis design.

Thermals, noise and power

Operating at 1.35V reduces power draw compared with standard 1.5V DDR3, which helps limit heat output inside the confined laptop chassis. The module itself has no moving parts and produces no audible noise. System fan behaviour will follow the laptop's own thermal curves rather than the memory module.
