The Seagate FireCuda X1070 is a 1TB internal solid state drive built for consumer desktops, laptops and handheld gaming PCs. It uses the M.2 2280 form factor and connects through a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 interface with NVMe protocol. QLC memory and a DRAM-less design with host memory buffer keep the cost low while still delivering high throughput for game libraries and everyday workloads.

PCIe 4.0 x4 interface requirement

This drive needs a motherboard or device with an M.2 slot wired for PCI-Express 4.0 x4 to reach its rated sequential speeds of up to 7200 MBps read and 6000 MBps write. On a PCIe 3.0 slot the drive will still function but will be limited to the older bus bandwidth. Random performance reaches up to 850000 IOPS read and 900000 IOPS write when the host supports Gen4.

1TB capacity with 600TB endurance

One terabyte holds dozens of modern AAA titles plus media files and applications. The 600TB total bytes written rating and 1800000 hour MTBF provide headroom for years of daily installs, updates and capture footage. Sustained write workloads such as large game downloads or video recording stay within the drive's thermal balance without a heatsink, while idle power sits at 20mW and active power at 4.7W.
