It targets operators who mine Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash on the SHA-256 algorithm and want a self-contained unit with an integrated web management portal that removes the need for a separate host computer.

Included PSU and power demands

A power supply ships in the box, yet the unit still requires ten 6-pin PCI-e connectors fed from a very stable 12V DC source. Bitmain notes that the APW3 is only suitable for 205-264V outlets; at lower voltages the EVGA 1600 G2 is the recommended alternative. Actual consumption will vary with PSU efficiency, ambient temperature and meter accuracy.

Installation and common pitfalls
