The AOpen Mini Chromebox N4500 is a small-form-factor desktop computer that runs Chrome OS out of the box. It is aimed at users who need a simple, always-connected device for web apps, cloud workflows and light productivity in offices, classrooms or digital-signage roles. The unit ships new with 8 GB of memory and 32 GB of eMMC storage. No monitor is included in the package.

Build integration and expandability

The fanless chassis operates silently and can be mounted with the supplied L-bracket behind a display or on a wall, freeing desk space and removing moving parts that collect dust. A dedicated power adapter is included, so the system does not rely on USB-C power delivery or an internal PSU. With only 32 GB of onboard eMMC, local storage is limited; users who keep large media libraries or offline datasets will need cloud storage or an external drive.

Sustained-load behaviour

The Intel Celeron N4500 processor runs without a fan, so thermal headroom is managed by throttling rather than active cooling. During prolonged workloads such as extended video playback or back-to-back video calls, the system will reduce clock speeds to stay within its passive envelope, which can lower sustained throughput compared with a short burst. The 8 GB of RAM helps keep multiple browser tabs responsive, but the eMMC storage does not offer the write endurance of an SSD under heavy, continuous I/O.
