550 VA Battery Backup

The APC BE550G is a 550 VA uninterruptible power supply rated for 330 watts of output. It provides battery-backed power and surge protection for desktop computers, networking gear and similar electronics during outages or voltage fluctuations. The unit accepts 120 V input and delivers a stepped approximated sine wave on battery power. It connects to a host system via USB for monitoring and management.

Eight Outlets Four Battery Four Surge

Eight NEMA 5-15R outlets are split evenly between battery backup and surge-only protection. This arrangement lets a builder plug critical components such as a PC and monitor into the backed outlets while routing peripherals to the surge-only side. The USB interface enables software-initiated shutdown when utility power is lost. A 24-hour recharge cycle restores the sealed lead-acid battery after a discharge event.

330 Watt Load 3.2 Minute Runtime

At the full 330 watt rating the battery sustains the load for approximately 3.2 minutes, enough time to save work and shut down cleanly. Lighter loads will extend that window, but the unit is not intended for extended operation. The replaceable battery uses the APCRBC110 cartridge. Builders needing longer runtime or higher wattage should consider units with larger VA ratings.
