The APC Smart-UPS SMT1000 is a 1000 VA, 700 W line-interactive uninterruptible power supply designed for small servers, network gear and workstations that need pure sine-wave output on 120 V circuits. It provides battery backup and surge protection for critical loads up to 670 W during outages.

Bundled software and cables

The package includes a USB cable, an RS-232 signalling cable and a CD with PowerChute management software, enabling automatic graceful shutdown and remote monitoring through the USB or SmartSlot interface. These accessories turn the UPS into a managed network device without extra purchases.

Runtime and interface constraints

At full 670 W load the internal battery delivers approximately 6.1 minutes of runtime, limiting extended operation to lighter loads or external battery packs. The USB and SmartSlot ports support one management connection at a time, and the NEMA 5-15P input requires a standard 15 A branch circuit.
