The ASRock B850 Pro RS WiFi motherboard uses the AMD B850 chipset on an ATX form factor. It accepts Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series processors in the AM5 socket. Four DDR5 slots support up to 256 GB of memory at speeds up to 8000+(OC) with AMD EXPO and Intel XMP 3.0 profiles. The board is aimed at builders who want a stable foundation for daily computing and gaming.

Sustained load behaviour

A 14+2+1 phase power design uses 80 A Dr.MOS devices to supply the CPU VCore, SOC and miscellaneous rails. Hi-Density power connectors handle the higher current demanded by heavy overclocking. The VRM layout is built for smooth delivery and lower temperatures during extended sessions rather than brief bursts. Dragon RTL8125BG LAN and Realtek ALC897 7.1 channel audio with Nahimic complete the core I/O.

The board adds a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot running at Gen5 x16 with 9000 and 7000 series CPUs, plus a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot at x4 mode. Storage includes one Blazing M.2 socket at PCIe Gen5 x4, two Hyper M.2 sockets at PCIe Gen4 x4 and one Ultra M.2 at PCIe Gen3 x4, alongside four SATA 6 Gb/s ports. USB provision covers Gen2x2 Type-C front, Gen2 Type-C rear, Gen1 Type-C rear, eight Gen1 ports and ten USB 2.0 ports. Moving from an older AM4 or entry AM5 board makes sense when Gen5 graphics or Gen5 NVMe bandwidth are required.
