Mini-ITX server board with embedded EPYC 3251
The ASRock Rack EPYC3251D4I-2T is a Mini-ITX server motherboard built around the AMD EPYC 3251 system-on-chip. It delivers eight cores and sixteen threads in a 6.7" x 6.7" footprint. The board targets embedded and edge deployments that need server-grade reliability and dual 10 GbE connectivity in a compact chassis. Builders requiring a larger form factor or discrete CPU socket should look elsewhere.
Sustained load behaviour
The Intel X550-AT2 controller provides two 10 GbE RJ45 ports for continuous high-throughput networking. Four DDR4 slots support ECC UDIMM, RDIMM and LRDIMM up to 2666 MT/s in dual-channel mode. The SoC design integrates the north bridge, reducing component count and thermal complexity during prolonged operation. A dedicated IPMI LAN port enables out-of-band management without interrupting primary traffic.
Upgrade path from single-GbE or non-ECC platforms
This board replaces older Mini-ITX servers limited to single gigabit LAN and non-ECC memory. The jump is worthwhile when workloads demand 10 GbE bandwidth, hardware error correction, or the eight-core EPYC 3251 compute density. It also adds an M.2 slot supporting 22110 form factors and an OCulink interface for four additional SATA devices. Systems already running dual 10 GbE with ECC on a compatible platform gain less immediate benefit.
