The ASUS Prime B650-PLUS motherboard is paired with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor in a single package. The AM5 socket board supports Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series desktop CPUs. This combination targets builders who want a ready-to-run platform for gaming and multitasking workloads. A BIOS update may be required before installing 8000 or 9000 series processors.

PCIe 5.0 M.2 and 2.5 Gb Ethernet limits

The primary M.2 slot operates at PCIe 5.0 x4 while the second runs at PCIe 4.0 x4, so the fastest drives only reach peak throughput in the top slot. The 2.5 Gb LAN port caps wired network transfers at that rate regardless of router capability. Four SATA 6 Gbps ports and two PCIe 4.0 x1 slots provide additional expansion within the chipset lane budget.

VRM and M.2 heatsinks with USB4 support

A VRM heatsink, dedicated M.2 heatsink and PCH heatsink work with hybrid fan headers and Fan Xpert 2+ for thermal management. Rear I/O includes USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, DisplayPort, HDMI and a BIOS FlashBack button that updates firmware without a CPU or memory installed. Onboard addressable Gen 2 and standard RGB headers enable Aura Sync lighting control. USB4 support adds high-speed peripheral connectivity through compatible headers.
