Ready for Intel 14th, 13th & 12th Gen
The ASUS PRIME Z790-V AX uses the Intel LGA 1700 socket and Z790 chipset. It supports 14th, 13th and 12th Generation Intel Core processors plus Pentium Gold and Celeron CPUs. Four DIMM slots accept up to 192GB of DDR5 memory in dual-channel mode with XMP support. The board provides PCIe 5.0, three M.2 slots, HDMI output, WiFi 6, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C and a Thunderbolt header.
Enhanced 14+1+1 power delivery
A 14(50A)+1(60A)+1 DrMOS power stage array, ProCool connector, alloy chokes and durable capacitors replace simpler VRM designs. This jump is worthwhile when pushing high-core-count CPUs or running sustained all-core workloads that stress lesser power phases. Large VRM heatsinks with high-efficiency thermal pads improve heat dissipation from the MOSFET and inductor areas. ASUS OptiMem II trace layout helps memory kits reach higher frequencies at lower voltages.
