T700 4TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe drive

The Crucial T700 is a consumer M.2 2280 solid-state drive with 4TB of TLC NAND storage. It connects through a PCI-Express 5.0 x4 lane and runs the NVMe 2.0 protocol. Sequential speeds reach up to 12,400 MBps read and 11,800 MBps write. Random performance hits up to 1,500,000 IOPS for both read and write workloads.

Upgrade from PCIe 4.0 or smaller capacity

Moving from a PCIe 4.0 drive doubles the interface bandwidth to 5.0 x4, cutting load times for large game textures and 8K media. The jump is worth it when the platform supports 5.0 and the workload saturates 4.0 limits. Microsoft DirectStorage can reduce CPU utilisation by up to 99 percent during asset streaming. The 4TB capacity replaces multiple smaller drives in a single slot.

Heatsink installation and airflow
