This new 1.8TB SAS hard drive spins at 10K RPM and uses a 12G interface in a 2.5 inch form factor. It ships with a compatible Dell caddy for direct installation. The drive targets administrators who need reliable rotational storage for supported Dell PowerEdge servers.
Fits listed PowerEdge models only
The included caddy matches the drive bays of the R210, R220, R230, R310, R320, R330, R410, R415, R420, R430, R510, R515, R530XD, R610, R620, R630, R710, R715, R720, R720XD, R730, R730XD, R805, R810, R815, R820, R830, R900, R905, R910, R920 and R930. Buyers with servers outside this list or with 3.5 inch only bays cannot use this assembly.
12G SAS interface decides compatibility
The drive communicates over a 12G SAS link, so the host backplane and controller must support that speed for full performance. If the system only provides a slower SAS generation, the drive will still function but at the lower rate. Verify the controller specification before purchase.
