This 400 GB SATA solid-state drive uses multi-level cell flash tuned for mixed-use workloads. It fits the 1.8-inch form factor found in several Dell PowerEdge servers. The drive targets IT teams that need reliable read and write performance for databases, virtualization or logging in rack and blade chassis.

6 Gbps SATA throughput ceiling

The SATA 6 Gbps interface caps sequential transfer rates at the bus limit, so sustained throughput cannot exceed that ceiling. Mixed-use firmware balances endurance and speed, but random write latency will rise once the write buffer fills. Workloads that demand consistent sub-millisecond latency or PCIe bandwidth should evaluate a different interface.

Direct swap in listed PowerEdge bays

Installation is a straight drive-bay swap in the compatible PowerEdge models: FC430, FC630, FC830, M630, M830, R330, R630 and R730xd. Firmware is pre-updated, yet the array controller may require a rebuild or reinitialisation before the volume becomes visible. Servers not on the compatibility list will not recognise the drive.
