The DELL 540-BDHO Qlogic QLE2772 provides two 32Gb Fibre Channel ports in a full-height bracket for rack-mount servers. It targets administrators who need high-throughput storage connectivity in supported PowerEdge platforms. The card is supplied new with firmware already updated.

Fibre Channel speed ceiling

Each port operates at up to 32Gb per second, so aggregate throughput is bounded by that link rate and the switch fabric behind it. Cable length, topology and switch port count become the practical limits once the adapter is installed. No higher-speed mode exists on this hardware.

Full-height form factor

The bracket requires a full-height PCIe slot, which excludes low-profile chassis such as the R640 or R650. Buyers with half-height only servers cannot use this card and must seek a low-profile equivalent instead.
