It is built for small-to-mid-sized businesses that need a compact rack platform for virtual machines, databases or file services. Buyers who require GPU acceleration or single-threaded burst performance beyond the Haswell microarchitecture will not find it here.

Eight hot-plug bays with H330 RAID and PCIe

The chassis accepts up to eight 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drives served by a Perc H330 controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. Two 300GB 15K SAS drives ship installed. Five PCIe slots — three at 3.0 and two at 2.0 — provide room for additional NICs, HBAs or flash cards. The half-height form factor rules out full-length add-in cards.

Redundant 750W supplies and iDRAC8 remote management
