Tower server for office workloads

The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 5U tower server built for small-office and remote-office tasks such as file and print serving, mail, messaging and web serving. It ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2667 v4 processors running at 3.2 GHz with a 3.6 GHz turbo, 32 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory and eight 8 TB 7.2K SATA hard drives on a PERC H730 controller. The system includes dual-port 1 GbE networking, iDRAC 8 Express remote management and a front bezel.

Dual 750 W platinum supplies and hot-swap power

Two redundant 750 watt platinum-efficiency power supplies share the load and can be swapped without shutting the server down. The chassis supports hot-swap power so maintenance does not interrupt services. Integrated Broadcom 5720 dual-port 1 GbE LOM handles network traffic while the H730 controller manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and pass-through modes with its 1 GB battery-backed cache. Twelve DDR4 slots allow expansion up to 384 GB when workloads grow.

Sustained multi-threaded performance

Under continuous load both 8-core Xeon processors maintain their 3.2 GHz base frequency and can reach 3.6 GHz turbo when thermal headroom allows. The 7.2K SATA drives deliver steady sequential throughput for bulk storage workloads while the H730 cache absorbs write bursts. iDRAC 8 Express provides ongoing health monitoring and remote power control so administrators can respond to thermal events without physical access. Memory capacity can scale to 384 GB across 12 slots for larger datasets.
