This new Dell K2P5K hard drive delivers 8 TB of storage in a 3.5-inch hot-plug form factor. It spins at 7.2K RPM and uses a SAS interface running at 12 Gb/s. The 512e disk format helps integrate the drive into compatible servers and storage arrays. It is built for systems that accept 3.5-inch SAS hot-plug bays.

This drive fits administrators expanding capacity on Dell PowerEdge servers or other hardware that supports SAS 12 Gb/s and the 512e format. It works with Windows Server 2008 R2 or newer and supported Linux distributions. VMware environments cannot use 512e drives, and Windows versions older than 2008 R2 are not supported.
